Putnam Hospital Center Home Care to Receive State Funding

Putnam Hospital Center Certified Home Health Agency and Hudson Valley Home Care Inc., affiliates of Health Quest, have been selected to receive $124,722 in funding from the New York State Department of Health as part of a statewide telemedicine initiative. The Telemedicine Demonstration Project is designed to utilize new technologies to help improve the quality of care and disease management for home care patients.

The funding will assist home care and hospice agencies to update telecommuni- cation abilities, including web-based technology that will allow physicians and patients to communicate through various means. The telemedicine initiative will also increase access to healthcare for residents in rural locations or for those who are home-bound due to chronic health conditions or disabilities.

Putnam Hospital Center Certified Home Health Agency and Hudson Valley Home Care provide services for residents in Putnam and Dutchess counties; they were the only two agencies chosen to receive funding in the Lower Hudson Valley Region.
