Putnam Hospital Center Foundation Names Four New Members
The Putnam Hospital Center Foundation recently named four new members to its board of directors for three-year terms—Antonette Barni, Gwen Buchalter, Mitchell D. Cohn, MD, and Thomas A. Strohl.
A resident of Mahopac, Antonette “Toni” Barni retired two years ago from Carmel High School after serving for 25 years as a special education teacher. A member of the Lake Mahopac Rotary Club, she had previously been a volunteer with the Kent Library and PARC.
Gwen Buchalter, a resident of North Salem, is an active volunteer with the Somers Holocaust Commission, the Mental Health Association of Westchester’s CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) program for foster children and the North Salem Middle/High School, where she works on committees that deal with drug usage, underage drinking and bullying.
Chappaqua resident Mitchell D. Cohn, MD, has been CEO and president of Northeastern Anesthesia Services for the past 21 years and is assistant director of anesthesia services at Putnam Hospital Center.
Thomas A. Strohl of Sherman, CT, is the general manager of Watson Laboratories, Inc., in Carmel, and was named to that position a year ago.
